Durham IQ

Hi guys,

I keep getting this re-occuring problem with the steering on my IQ...

3 times I've had it in to get it fixed under warranty... each time after a few weeks the noise comes back. What Can I do with Toyota here? I feel like they are just fogging me off!!

Thanks

Phil

It may help and illicit more comments, if you gave more detail on the problem you have - what sort of noise are you experiencing (does it occur at full lock, all the time, when turning left or right, at slow or high speed, etc), what has the dealer done to the steering (what part have been replaced if any), what have they said is wrong with the steering, etc.

See http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=145163#entry1259820 as an example.

What is the fix that they have done 3 times,

What is the problem that the say they are fixing?

What is the noise, is it driveshaft, bearings, CV, brakes or steering?

Toyota Customer services would be the ones to call & Email.

Then off to another Dealerships workshop if this is being done under warranty.

Or bear the cost of an independent inspection informing Toyota UK Customer Services you will be persuing them for the costs if faulty work being done under warranty on their behalf.

Call your Local Trading Standards to make enquiries and log a case if needs must.

Before your Warranty Expires.

As from my posting History http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139660#entry1233428

Told last time they had adjusted the allignment... previously they'd replace the strut tops twice....

Personally I think they're leading me on... just oiling up a few joints to avoid anything more costly to do under its warranty!

I had the problem of a steering noise on my iQ. It ended up being overinflation of some of the tires. You may want to check that yourself.

Its funny but the noise goes on an icely snow covered road so I guess the problem is a straining tension issue somewhere in the steering rack.
