Hi!

I got a 96 Carina E with the 7a-fe in it up here in Norway, very happy with my choise so far...

However:

One day, my wipers got stuck on, and I have been driving with the stalk unplugged since..

I have found the stalk works, and the motor obiously work.

Does this car have a relay for the wiper motor?

Where is it?

Also, I am not able to find a decent wiring diagram online, any suggestions?

Cheers guys

You say the stalk and motor work, so the relay must surely be ok or else it would not transfer power to the motor?

I think you should be looking at the the stalk switch i,e on the contacts inside it may have broke and stuck it switched on !?

Thanks for the input!

That was the initial idea, I found another stalk, but the problem persist.

I then swapped the motor, and problem dissappeared!

Then it came back immediately after I put all the trim back on..

Then I changed the fuse, and the problem disappeared for two days, now they are merrily wiping my window again....

SO there is either a short in the system, a relay sticking open or two blown motors and stalks?

What else is related to this circuit?

Really would like a wiring diagram though

cheers

Quote : Then it came back immediately after I put all the trim back on.. You need to have a closer look where your block connector fits to your stalk wires connector or a trapped open wire in the vicinity of your trim and steering plastic cover, or possibly you do indeed have a sticking relay?
