I am sure it comes up day after day for the Police, especially the larger Motorway patrolled areas

Let's not forget, there are a number of people out there who pay for insurance by direct debit, and when they fail to make a payment their insurance gets cancelled. They then "conveniently" forget that happened and scream blue murder that they are insured.

When you think of the number of policies in place, the amount of errors, even if it is 99.9% correct, are probably very small indeed

Nothing is infallible, I have seen cars going round with the wrong number plates on, and tax discs with the wrong reg number too, all down to human error, nothing is fool proof, but I think on the whole, the database is pretty robust
