Coming From An Mx5 To A Corolla T Sport And Loving Every Minute Of It.

I thought I'd come on and say hello and tell you all my story. As of yesterday I took delivery of my new car, a pre face lift CTS with just over 95000 miles on it. The car is utterly spotless and drives like a car with half the mileage. It came with a full service history, which is a must, large spec and all this for £2000.

My poor old 1993 Eunos was on it's last legs and I had to take the plunge towards buying a new car. I wanted something that was more practical than the Mazzer but retained a sporty feel. After looking at various motors from Audis, BMW's to Civic VTI-S' I decided to test drive a Corolla T Sport. Before buying the Corolla I made sure to do my homework and the general consensus across internet users was that the car was bland, sat too high and did not compare to it's closest rivals, the Civic Type R and the Clio 182. Although some of these points ring true such as the high ride height and lack of torque at low ends, the CTS is worlds apart from the Eunos. I have to say, even though the handling isn't quite as sharp (it never would be as my 5 had a roll cage, strut brace and lowered suspension but there ya go!) I have absolutely fallen head over heels with it. The VVTL-I engine is superb and the 'Lift' is completely out of this world. I have NEVER experienced something so supposedly bland get to motorway driving speeds as quickly as the Corolla does.

I hope to lower the CTS in the near future as well as put on an air filter to enhance the already raspy sounding engine. Well there's a little about me and my first Toyota. Thanks for reading TOC.
