Just done mine 5.9 litres (2004) to be exact 1cd-ftv. I used 5w 30 oil from toyota.

all this info should be in your user manual.

I m sure the 2.0 d4d engine in 2002 avensis and the newer shape after 2003 is different thats why i am a bit confused. Some one told me i have to put 6.4 litres of engine oil thats alot of oil.

I selected the same car as yours and it said 6.4 so 'someone' may be right. like I said check your user manual that will confirm or ring your local toyota dealer.

synthetic BLEND is just another name for semi synthetic

I will change my oil for firs time and checked here:

"put your reg in here.

http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectionbodycopy.do?categoryId=9024084&contentId=7073092 "

I did it and got disappointed result for my engine 1AD-FTV -requires 6.3l

That means I will need:

2x 5l or

5l+4l or

2x4l or

5l+1l+1l

or 2x4l+5l= 13l for two times change...
