2.0 D4D Weird Non Start

Hi. I have a 2007 2.0 d4d with 54k on it. Full Toyota history. Serviced in january. I've had my glow plugs changed in January after one failed. Anyway, car had been sitting for 9 hours in the works car park, went to start, waited for glow plug cycle, went to start engine , turned over then cut out. Ran glow plugs for a few cycles, as before turned over and cut out. No smoke from exhaust, oil ok etc. call the AA out, same happened for him. CHecked Battery, ok, glow plugs ok. Plugged into obd, no fault codes. Checked fuel pressure, coolant temp, and rpm on turn over. Still wont start. He then cleared the fault codes, despite none showing, car starts 1st time as normal. Sat at 800 rpm then jumped to 1200 as its always don't at this temperature (-2). Repeated several times, started fine. Car drove perfectly, I've let it cool down and it starts ok. Will book in with Mr T, but does anyone know what's up with it? Aa tech has never seen anything like it.

Thanks

Hi, look here: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/142960-starting-problems-20-d4d/

I believe that you have old type of SCV valve. If the valve is fully seized, may not appear at all the smoke and the engine will not do "puff-puff" and stall. Depends on the temperature and wear of the valve.

Sorry for my English, I'm from Czech Republic..
