Squeaking Front Drivers Seat

Hi...ok..I have just bought a lovely 57 plate Sr180. A small gripe I have is an annoying squeaking drivers seat. Ive spent time working its location - its the seat back (upper back), not the base or seat belt. Im guessing a dose of WD40 will cure it, but not sure about removing the seat fabric....any tips?

I don't have any tips I'm afraid, but if you don't get any response as a last resort if you visit http://www.toyota-tech.eu/ and sign up you can pay by the hour in € to view the official documents on how to remove the seat fabric.

If you do use the Toyota Tec site and it is your first time read the Instructions carefully first, cos if you get it wrong you will lose your money and there is no way to retreave it.

Are you sure its not the seat belt anchorage thats causing the noise. I ask cos thats where mine was squeaking from and so have other whos post i have read.

Something strange is happening now... I did ask about the seat belt and original poster answered that he's sure it isn't the belt. You remember that too Beags, don't you?

Now those messages are gone...

There is a know fault with the drivers seat which causes that squeaking noise. Had it on my 58 plate and the seat base was replaced under warranty = no arguments from the dealer so they must have known about it

If it's a known issue, you can always try even if you've got no warranty left. Sometimes in can work depending on dealer...
