Any ideas how much I should pay to have my water pump replaced. Signs of coolant leaking from that area not confirmed but a small wet patch under the car this morning right under where pump etc are.Could there be any other source of a leak in this area.

Any help much appreciated Taxijim.

When you start the car, pump only leaks during warm up and when the car cools down. It may leak during running, but it is hard to spot. That is why you only notice the wet spot where the car is standing. If the pipes or joins to the pump are leaking, feel for damp spots - being careful if the engine is hot. Keep an eye on the coolant level.

Cannot give a cost of a replacement pump or fitting. You will have to ask a few garages - get a quote.

Check the Eurocarpart site to get an idea of how much the pump will cost.

Is it aux belt driven or tbelt driven?

The two prices will vary widely plus cost of t belt kit if needed

Can you hear pump rattle/ vibrations

Feel it for loose bearing

Look for a water trail from the telltale hole?

If using the pink antifreeze its quite easy spotting a leak as it leaves a pink chalky residue
