Man A/c To Auto A/c

Hi chaps

After fitting a new stereo and fascia panel (replaced with a mp3 / usb / sd card reader unit) i noticed

the a/c unit just slides off the base of the old stereo unit and then fits onto the new fascia panel,

My question is i have seen some of the auto a/c units on sale on the bay, I dont think it would be that

simple but can you just change out the manual unit for the auto one, Are there sensors fitted to higher spec models that are not fitted to my T2, or are the sensors or other bits of electrickery in situ but redundant untill the auto a/c unit is fitted

Just a question, as these units are on sale for roughly 40 quid, and the wiring plugs on the back and appertures look identical,

to be honest,my last avensis which i had for four years as a taxi,and my new avensis both have it,i never ever use it in auto mode,it never does what you want it to and in fact is fu@@@@g annoying,the only advantage is you can change the temps between left and right,art for arts sake mate
