Weird Or What?

I know that I've probably noticed this before but it was really noticable today that I was touching in exactly the same stone chips on the front of my RAV that I'd touched in before.

Is there some law of physics that determines that the same bits of the bonnet will always be struck by the same sized stone? Is it the same stones? Am I simply re-living the same drives every year and not realising it? Am I having a Princess Leia moment - you know, the bit in Star Wars where she calls out to Obe Wan repeatedly like on a video loop?

It's probably post-Easter Bunny-itis.

Either that or I don't have enough to do today.

Sherlock Farlie assumes you are touching in the same chips for the second or third time ?

Seriously.... For some reason the paint (Water based) in many of these touch up kits does not stick awful well...

I wet sand the surface before applying touch up paint..

Fill the chip above the level of the crater created by the stone..

This will drop back below the paints surface as it dries and shrinks..

Then fill again with the clear coat (Laquer) and repeat till the layers are above the general paint surface.

Then very carefully wet sand using Meguires Unigrit paper in 3500 or 4000 grit until all is dead flat

Then polish..

With practice it really is possible to make a completely invisible repair.. It just takes a little time and a modicum of insanity..
