Are Paint Chips Covered Under Warranty?

Hi. I have a October '51 D4D CDX 5 door hatch with 51K on the clock. I have metalic blue paint and the bonnet looks terrible. It is absolutely "peppered" with chips and scratches out of the paint and looks as if it has the measles with hundreds (yes hundreds in all sizes), of white dots, being where the paint has come off, (presumably from stones/grit). The manufacturers warranty runs to october 2004 and wondered whether this would be covered under the manufactureers warranty if I took it back? Has anyone else had this problem and had it resprayed/fixed? Although I love the car, I have never seen anything like this in any other car I have had. I wonder whether the paint application is poor, or the paint itself too frail/brittle Cheers for any info.

Craig

My 98 one has a couple of stone chips but nothing major, it could be the pain quality because my dads car is made in Japan and thats done 136k and doesnt have any.

I have just bought a 51 Saloon, 6 months left on warrenty. It has no chip marks whatsoever with 40K on the clock. It too also had noisy steering, but my dealer fixed it within a week. They put in a new steering rack - a common fault throughout the range!! Cannot fault my local dealer.
