Rear Brakes Comming On!

Hi all, I have a 54 plate diesel spirit, had it about 5 weeks, nice car, a strange thing happens when going around right hand corners, islands and sharp bends, from about 20mph the back end digs in and one can feel the rear brakes come on, only for a second, i have tried turning off the Traction control but it still happens, i was putting it down to the cold temperatures we are having but to day at 11°C they came on again?

The car had new rear pads fitted 3 months ago by the previous owner.

Strange it only happens going around right hand corners, I am by no means a boy racer and some say I drive like my Nan.

Any pointers ? Cheers

Hi Frankie406, had a good look at the rears and all is well, I am thinking that this started when I had two new tyres fitted?? I have read hear that it may have to have the yaw rate sensor re calibration done. On other forums it can be done using a jumper wire in the OBD.

Any Idears?

cheers

Ok, so I have read through this thread and now I'm concerned. At present this is an inconvenience rather than actually dangerous but:

if you are turning right across oncoming traffic and the brakes stick on you are going to be in big trouble really quickly - especially if the unexpected brake application causes the engine to stall. I know that this may not happen (and hope that it doesn't) but if it does you won't have to worry about fixing your brakes any more. Your front seat passenger probably won't have to worry about anything ever again.....

If it was me I would get it checked over by a professional, just to be safe. It will cost you but it may save you in the long term.
