Media Commands In Touch&go Plus Voice Recognition

I have recently had the Touch&Go Plus system installed on my car, and the voice commands work for Navigation and other commands. But when trying to use any Media command such as 'search for music', the voice simply says "Media device not selected". Is this a setting I can control, to make the Media commands work? Or has my Touch&Go Plus system been installed incorrectly (without setting a 'Media device')? I've tried setting some audio on like CD player and then giving the media voice command, but same problem occurs.

Sorry to see that you have not had any replies. My problem is that I cannot get 'voice recognition' to work at all.

Screen simply says 'not available'

Do I have to register my mobile somewhere, the manual gives no clue.

I would be grateful if you can help

Barry

Hi Barry,

Congrats on the new car. The voice recognition feature does not come installed with any new auris model. It is only available as an optional upgrade with the 'Touch & Go Plus' navigation system. If your car came with a built-in navigation system, it is the 'Touch & Go' system and not the 'Touch & Go Plus'. You can ask your dealer for price of upgrade to Touch & Go plus, which will give voice feature as well as 3 years free update of maps, text-to-speech and Emails/calendar from your phone.

As for my original question, it seems that the Media voice commands are only for USB drive music and bluetooth music, it does not work with the CD player. It would be good if it worked with the CD player, but it looks like they didn't design this for that system. I have tried with the USB drive and Bluetooth; it works better with the USB flash drive for me but that could be because my phone does not have all the required bluetooth firmware or hardware.
