The rav's having a new turbo fitted on Tues, but i have to drive it to Mr T first, but concerned about driving there......

Am quite concerned about fins getting into the engine? or anything else........

Does driving very at low revs help in any way ?

Or anything i can do to avoid anymore possible damage.

Try to keep below 1800rpm, which is the speed the turbo really starts to spin. Hopefully, your journey will be short.

Thanks again Chris,TBH this is exactly what i have been doing.

Nice smooth gear changes, slow acceleration, and very very gentle driving......with serious concentration.

As you say........hopefully i'll get there in one piece.

And enjoy a lovely Aygo curtesy car for a day or two. :dontgetit:

I feel your concern. I will be taking mine in to have the exhaust done in stainless in a fortnights time and I'm not relishing the drive. The old exhaust is in a very bad way and nice and easy does it will be the order of the day. Good luck!

Er......TBH Chris.

Yes...i probably did gain high MPG,i drove the 14 miles to the dealership.........at about 15 mph or under, rarely got out of 1st gear.

Generated loads & loads of blue smoke though, could hear metal clanging in the turbo, had my hazard lights on all the way,it took me about 1 1/2 hours to drive there.

And on the slight hills en-route,it was nerv's galore, gritted teeth and finally " rolled " into the dealership in big plume of smoke.

That was truly the WORST drive of my life.
