Mass Airflow Sensor

Hi all, Firstly I'm a first time Toyota owner and i'm all the way down here in Jamaica. I have a 2006 Avensis 1AZ-FE 2.0 16 valve vvt-i. I'm coming from a Honda fit, so i'm fuel conscious and i realize that the vehicle was consuming fuel a lot (360 km per full tank). Thus, i made a scan and it showed that the Mass Airflow Sensor was faulty. You said that the dealers don't have it in stock; can they order one for you?

Given the difference in prices I would be tempted to see what the dealers can do first. I don't understand why the one from Australia is so much more expensive than the other one.

Have you tried cleaning the maf sensor with electrical contact cleaner.

one of the reasons is that the one from Australia is brand new and the one in the UK is used.
