Hi, I recently purchased an 04 Corolla Verso 2.0 D-4D T-Spirit

Fuel guage worked fine when I test drove it, and also when I purchased it

However after my 1st full fill up, the needle's been stuck on full despite me covering nearly 200 miles, and the digital meter acurately is showing the estimated mileage remaining (started on about 400, now 200 miles)

Any ideas what may be the problem? I'm not car/technically minded so a simpler than normal explanation would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Sounds like it could be the dial itself sticking.

If the range is being reported correctly it doesn't sound like the sender unit is faulty.

I'm not sure how easy it is to repair a dashpod dial to be honest.

You could either use the estimated range instead, or take a trip to Toyota which could prove expensive.

Failing that a good autoelectrician may have experience of the fault.

Have you tried tapping the glass on the dash pod?

I used to have a sticking temp gauge on my old Avensis. Tapping the dash reasonably hard got the dial moving again.

Just a thought
