There is much more online support for LHD versions, particularly in the US and Canada. I have found documentation in the past which helps.

Is there a particular function you are not sure about ?. I have run one for just over two years and managed to conquer the sat-nav, often by trial and error rather than the manual which is not clear to read.

A favourite criticism is that it doesn't accept full UK postcodes so it takes some patience to use the road name and then find the town in the list. Overall though I found it much better to use than the Tom Tom built into my wife's Yaris.
