Petrol Tank Breather Hose

Anyone know the diameter of the rubber breather hose between the filler and the tank on a 96 rav 4 please.

Asked Toyota and they didn't know?

The breather pipe is not a rubber hose but metal which corrodes and I guess by now will be giving you petrol vapours. You can replace the pipe with a reinforced plastic/rubber hose which is suitable for use with petrol and the hose can be obtained from industrial hose suppliers who will keep you right on the type of hose - for safety reasons. The breather is found behind the plastic shroud in the rear wheel well.

You must make sure that the hose is fitted securely to avoid chafing, and also that the joints are very tight. Check the filler pipe while you have the shroud off.
