Info For The Dvla

Hi all, could anyone tell me if all rav4 4-3 have the engine number prefix AD2 before the numbers on a re-manufactured as the original motor when informing the dvla to change the log book

I just sent the number I was given without the prefix. I did ask the dealer they said the number did not have a prefix.

just my luck, I added the prefix this morning and the boss posted it, 20 minutes later got a call for the garage that fitted the motor saying there was no prefix, can I swear a bit now? *&$%")! that's better, now do I get back to the DVLA or let sleeping dogs lie

Oh no, might be worth a phone call.

Good luck with that!! Once tried to contact DVLA by phone when they tried to tell my wife (wrongly) that her car was out of tax and that she was liable to a penalty. Helpline was a robotic joke full of useless numbers that no one answered. Eventually after writing four times (each time with full colour copy of the cars in date tax disc we eventually had an acknowledgement that her details had been updated. No apology though. Rant over
