Door Unsecured Dash Light

My nearside door switch does not work and I am thinking of sorting it out. Is this just a microswitch in the door or is it more complex and is it easy to do. I always find taking off door inner panels easier than re-fitting them and I do not wish to start this if it is a bigger than a little job. Thanks

I think you will just need to ease the switch up with a small screwdriver if you mean the door locking rocker switch which is similar to the window switch?

Pete, I think he is refering to the door open warning light on the dash is being triggered by the door he is refering to. It is showing the nearside door is not shut properly and is the door switch easy to change?

I think you may have the answer, since I do not own that specific model.

Yes it is the dash warning light switch - I do not want to take off the inner panel only to find it is a bigger job than I was expecting!

Sorry about that ... I should have gone to Specsavers! LOL.

The switch is actually in the door pillar near to where it locks not in the door, these switches are normally near the hinges but not on the T25 Avensis and are just a "normally closed" contact switch so when the door is shut the contacts are opened breaking the circuit to earth.
