T180 Mpg Observation

Just done a 400 miles round trip (motorway) and got the following results-

39 mpg outward leg (boo) but 4 adults in the car and very fully laden

53 mpg homeward leg (yes) with 3 adults in the car and empty boot

Same route, no hold ups

Average= 46 mpg - pretty pleased with that as only ever had mpg from my 7 year old T180 over 52mpg once before - dont think the car is actually capable of much more though.

Not bad overall Andy, were you driving into a head wind on the outward leg as the Avensis has the aero dynamics of a brick .

Those are actually very good figures for the 2.2 engine. I'd be happy with that ! Just wish there were motorways up here in the Arctic circle, lol.

I managed 50ish once a few years ago. Dont know how i managed it tho cos its only manages 36-42mpg on most trips thats having to really try hard tho. Most of the time its mid 30's. Have complained about fuel consumption since 2007 had several ecu updates, new engine and DPF, Egr valve replaced.
