Avensis Verso 'door Check Strap' Repair Or Replace?

Hi All,

On my 2002 Avensis Verso 3 out of the 4 doors won't stay open, much to the annoyance of my wife whilst trying to load kids in and out of the car. Does anyone know if you can repair the 'door check straps' or do they need replacing? I contacted some people breaking the same model and it appears it may be a common thing for them to wear out, is it possible to buy new ones? If I do need to replace them, if anyone can recommend a good place to get them I'd be grateful.

Then again the car is around 14 years old, so some wear must be expected.

the check strap is there to prevent the door opening too far not to keep it open.

That explains why the doors of my 2001 have never stayed open, unless I'm parked on flat ground or a downhill.
