Hi everyone, my 09 Corolla Verso cd player has developed an intermittent problem which Toyota will charge me £60 to remove and inspect the unit before repair. The screen on the unit will go blank and no matter what button you press the unit just turns on and off. I can move between radio and cd on my steerinig wheel but I cannot for example load CDs as pressing that button just turns the system off. It has been happening for a couple of months now, the latest episode lasted two days and then hey presto, all is well again (for another while). Has anyone else had a similar problem or any advice on anything else I can do ? Thanks

I have just bought my 09 verso last week and today the display has gone blank after we used the Aux input. we now have no display at all, yet we can here the radio and play a cd. it's like the stereo display has a fuse blown??

anyone else had these issues??

Screen came back this morning with no issues. Phoned local Toyota and they said that never heard of the issue before but they would charge 45 quid remove stereo and can have it repaired by someone in the area. All fixed for the100 quid.

Do.nt know what to do yet.

Mmm, I know what you mean. Mine was playing up really badly but hasn't malfunctioned for a couple of weeks now. I am going to hold off and see what happens, I am happy enough as long as the problem keeps rectifying itself. My local dealer hadn't any other instances either but also couldn't say if it could be fixed or not. I am going to sit tight !

Yes, I had a similar problem with my CD player. The text on the screen became all scrambled then went blank altogether, though the CD player/radio still worked! All I did (more out of desperation that anything) was to gently push the plastic round the screen and amazingly it came back on and hasn't gone off since!

The latest update is that i took the radio to an independant car hifi place after it started playing up again.

The guy pushed the fascia in and the radio sprung into life. They then took the radio out and bench tested it for a week and found no issues at all. they re-soldered some contacts on the back of the fascia and refitted the radio.

It's been working fine for two weeks now.......... they charged me £25 and apologised for not finding anything.

Hopefully thats the end of it!!!
