T180 Mpg With A Twist! Do Not Believe The Obc

Thanks for the replies,so it would seem about right. I must admit it was quite a spirited drive so if I'm a bit lighter footed the results could be better then again what's the point of buying something and not enjoying it!

I must say I had a Lexus is220d the the town mpg was worse but the motorway mpg was better even without using the awful 6th gear.

All in all the rav beats it hands down so can't complain about mpg and will have to put up with it or be more sensible😇.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hi have you had any success after changing the EGR valve?

My OBC was indicating a better reading on short runs than on longer jaunts which I thought was a bit odd.

So I decided to do a brim test and while the OBC indicated a all time high 36MPG average which I was quite happy with the test came up with a lower figure of 30MPG.(250 miles/39 litres)

So now I wished I never bothered

Is this about normal for a T180?

For a dramatic improvement in mpg on a T180, get yourself a lindop chip kit.

Mine went up from 29 to 42mpg on the obc,or better,M'way driving on cruise control.

If you do average mileage it should pay for itself in two years.

Plus the extra torque you get will surprise you.

Changing the EGR has made no tangible difference whatsoever

Hi, I can also verify the Lindop box, I have one on our T180 which is being traded in on Monday so I am going to remove ours this weekend. Therefore if you are interested in a second hand box then PM me :)

Had no probs with my used one.

Bought from Kev,who being a good egg had the chip software updated by Kingo. (Egg & chips)

Takes about 10 mins to fit.
