Service History

i brought a t spirit in december and need a head gasket repair doing , before i phone toyota up what do i need to tell them about the car , i have no service record on the car , and been told to de-taxi it when i take it in. itsa november 2007 plate, 94,000

I can't say for sure but I reckon they are going to want to see a service history. You could pop in, all innocent, and ask if they have a history for the car on their computer because you didn't get one with it and you want to check whether to book it in with them....Just don't mention the head gasket until you know whether there is a good service history

phone toyota they had service history up to 60,000 but i need to find out about the other 25,000 before they could do anything. i do my own oil changes for £25 they charge 110

Ok so I'm presuming that you want the work done under warranty which I'm guessing could be tricky with an incomplete service history. Even if you have records and receipts for the servicing you have done they may be able to reject a warranty claim due to the gap in the history.

I think the tech bulleting that they operate to has been posted on this site before. If you search for 'head gasket' or 'tech bulletin' you might be able to read the detail for yourself.

I fear you may be looking at a big bill.
