Battery, Engine And Oil Warning Lights On Together

I have 2004 2.2l D4D Avensis.

In October/November last year the red Battery and yellow engine and oil warning lights came on together. The oil level was fine. When searching topics on this forum I found that this was usually an alternator fault and seemed to be fairly common. We took the car to a local garage who diagnosed it as an alternator fault and fitted us a new one.

In January we had a flat Battery so I suspected that we may still have an alternator fault but the garage said it was just the Battery that was faulty so we fitted a new battery.

At Easter we had another flat battery and ended up having to call the AA. When he tested across the terminals of the battery he got about 12.6-12.7 Vdc and said he would have expected 13.5-14 so to get the alternator checked out again as it may be a reconditioned one. So the car went back to the garage who tested with their multimeter and sent the alternator back to the supplier. The garage then told us that the supplier had returned the alternator saying there was nothing wrong with it and that they got 14 Vdc when they tested it. The garage told us that the battery we have fitted may be too weak (it has a capacity of 66 Ampere hours on the badge).

Just had the 3 warning lights on so tested across the battery terminals with my multimeter and I'm getting 12.6 Vdc. Does anyone know if the ampage of the battery could cause this fault or does it seem more likely to be the alternator?

Thanks

Mate its the alternator. Had the same lights on, But the fuel filter light was also on mine because their was water in the fuel filter which I hadn't taken out yet.

Got a new regulator fitted at the back of the alternator, but I took it to a alternator/starter specialist and that is what he said was gone after testing.

No mate. The car has gone back into the garage but the fault has not happened since Saturday. We've asked them to put us the correct Battery on (110amp I believe). They've checked the alternator and said that eventually it goes up to 14V so they're happy with that. They've checked for water in the fuel filter and that was ok so we'll have it back with the new Battery and see how we go. Any more problems and we'll take it to Toyota.

After a long amount of time spent on google the majority of time this seems to be caused by the alternator but I've read one person who had a starter motor fault causing the same lights and another with an ecu fault.
