Red Yaris 54

As title I am wanting to know if the latest Yaris with the tyre repair kit is supplied with a jack as standard?

If so is it stored under the front passenger seat as in my current Verso S?

I've a 2012 T Spirit and that has a space saver spare with jack, I thought all the new models were the same?

I think only the Hybrid T3 comes with a tyre "repair kit". The remainder with a space saver spare. Whether Toyota are cheepskate enough to not provide a jack with the tyre "gunk" I don't know?

I have just purchased a Yaris Hybrid T4 in August 2013. It was a pre reg car.

I have only got the gunk, tyre inflator, wheel brace and towing eye. I DONT HAVE a jack.

Has any one else had a car supplied without a jack, or do you think someone has pinched it for another customer.

Before you ask. I have looked under the pasanger seat.

As of a month or so ago no new production Yaris includes either a Spare wheel or a jack they have been deleted along with a couple of production changes.

TR seat trim from black/blue to black/grey

All models loose chrome interior door handles for satin silver finish.

Phased deletion of Spare wheel & jack replaced with Puncture repair kit

Spare and tool kit is now an option.

Is there no end no this penny pinching? It applies to all manufacturers, not just Toyota. I remember some time ago when looking for a new car, a salesman telling me it was in the interest of fuel economy, larger boot space etc. My reply was, Oh! silly me I just thought it lowered manufacturer costs, therefore, increased profit at the inconvenience of the customer. Shows how wrong you can be! Try locating a mobile tyre fitter who is able to supply the correct tyre at reasonable cost in a reasonable time around 2 am. Sunday. No prizes for guessing the outcome!

Out of interest, what's the weight of the spacesaver? Glad I got my car last year so spare included and no nasty gunge kit (and I wonder how many people realise that the gunge has an expiry date on it ... nice little earner too that I guess)

Thats very intresting about the expiry date re the tyre gunk. I have had a look at the date on mine, it expires in January 2016.

How much does this cost to replace out of intrest?

I will have to get myself a jack and a spare wheel!

You don't have to buy the, probably overpriced, gunk from Toyota. For example, "Slime" is around £8 for a 470ml can at Amazon.

Picked up my Yaris Hybrid Trend a couple of hours ago.

No jack, no wheel brace. Just gunk and towing eye.

I have ordered a spare wheel and now it seems I have to order a jack as well.

A little sour taste after spending £18K

You could have checked the spec against the brochure, website or sales team, at the time of ordering - and ordered the spare wheel kit then. As you can see from the above post the spare and tool kit were deleted from production models in 2013.

It isn't just Toyota who are not supplying a spare as standard.

Just an FYI Yaris spare wheel kit consists of two part numbers:

42600-09D00 - Tools & fittings

42600-0DM51 - 16" space saver wheel & tyre

This kit fits all UK spec Mk3 Yaris supplied without spare and tools.

Why wouldn't they if you didn't want it?

Firstly, I'm just saying, a contribution to the thread.....................it'd only have stood on my garage shelf until out of date, however, the inflator would have been of use. In my negotiations there was never any mention of credit for the kit had I paid their £150 odd for the wheel and tools........

Secondly, (in the same 'devil's advocate' spirit as your post FB) had it been a year ago i.e. the other way around and they removed the spare wheel and tools because I wanted the gunk kit, would that have solicited the same 'why wouldn't they' reply?
