High Revving T Sport Yaris

i have a 2003 yaris t sport and when i start it after it has been standing it ticks over at between 2000 and 2500 it also cuts out sometimes when i go down hill if i have to stop at the bottom at traffic lights. it has been in the garage for a check and they have said it is ok.

any comments please

Had exactly the same issue on my Peugeot Partner ( Company car, wouldnt be seen dead in a french car <_< ) and the garage had it in about 5 times before they sort of fixed it.

Coming to a junction or something the revs would drop right down low and the hazard light would come on.

Dunno what they did but the light still comes on but it doesnt stop anymore.

I would say its got something to do with the fuel pump, if you rev up the engine you can usually keep it from dropping out of revs. Think its loosing pressure, sounds like the same as your experiencing.

its obviously not right is it!

id try a different toyota dealer to check it out!

could be the idle sensor i had the same on a saxo a few years back... or the ECU

hope u get it sorted soon
