I bought the Verso new 3 yrs ago before I took early retirement because the 3rd family vehicle (a Ford Ranger) was standing unused most of the time and the wife thought a 7 seater replacement would come in handy for taking the grandkids out.

But as things have worked out after selling my main car (a 2.7d Jaguar) I bought a Hilux so the Verso has been standing in the garage. At its last main dealer service in March it had only done 700 miles since the previous service so I decided to sell.

I thought an as new 1 owner 8k mile Toyota would`ve been gone in the blink of an eye but my £42 Autotrader advert has only attracted I scam reply.

Is my asking price of £12500 too much ?

No expert but I would consider the price a little high as you would usually expect at least a 50% depreciation at the 3 year mark. Add to that this is a private sale and the recent launch of the new face-lift version that would reduce it further. Wouldn't surprise me to see your car on a dealer forecourt for £12.5K but on a private sale I wouldn't expect to pay more than £10K. I always get depressed when it comes to part exchange time so can appreciate that this is probably not the kind of figure you were hoping for but just giving you my opinion as a prospective buyer.

Best of luck with the sale.

Thanks for you comments Stephen, I`ve based the price on the fact that it has only done a genuine 8k whereas most on the dealer forecourts I`ve seen have 30-40k and also has the remainer of the Toyota 5 yr warranty.

Its typical when I am looking a for a genuine car like this one to buy they never come up :ermm:

Have you thought about advertising on this forum? If I was looking for a used Toyota I would definitely consider a forum owners one.

I `ve been to a local Toyota dealer and the most they offered against a 61 plate Hilux was £10k so I`ve reduced my asking price to £11k.

If it doesn`t sell for close to that I`m going to keep it because it feels as though I`m just giving it away. :dontgetit:
