Performance Specs

Hi,

Does anybody know where I can find performance specs for the 2009 on Avensis 2.0 and 2.2 ?

I'm thinking of buying 2012 reg saloon soon and was wondering how they compared not only to each other but to other manufacturers. Be interested to see the in gear acceleration figures, that extra 200cc in the 2.2 must be doing something.

Cheers, has some useful info on there.

Still be interested in the in gear times if anyone has them e.g. 50-70

Found no info on the in gear times for 50-70. Though in the What Car review they say the performance difference isn't great and their favourite is the 2.0 litre - which is more economical.

Yeah Autocar said something similar (although they did also say it was quicker than the more powerful Insignia) you pays your money and takes your choice I suppose. Always going to be a trade off between performance and economy.

I know it's not really what the Avensis is about and someone wanting a performance car is likely going to look elsewhere, but having had an 09 2.0 D4D Avensis for a while it always felt a bit underpowered and the chassis easily capable of handling more oomph. Great in every other respect which is why I'm considering buying a new one, but it's a question of 2.0, 2.2, or either of those chipped.

I'll have to do some digging.

Have Autocar each week and they don't have any Avensis in their performance tables (which aren't what they used to be). As regards 0-100 the Avensis 2.2 is a full 9 seconds quicker than the benchmark Mondeo.
