Rear Indicator Lighting Up...

My mate was following me t'other day and he told me that when i indicated left, the rear right red lamps also flashed....

I had my lights on too btw as it was dark and apparently this 'flashing' is quite blatent.

I also noticed that when my fog lights are on, and i press the brake pedal, my dash indicator showing the right turn signal also lights up bright.

Is this easy to sort out???

All of the lamps on one side depend on an earth connection to allow them to work. They are all connected together and the ring connection at the end of the wires is fastened to the car body under a bolt near the lights. If this ring connector is disconnected from the car body the voltage goes though the other lamps on that side and gets the earth connection from lights on the other side. Take off the trim in the boot and check the earth wiring.

Definitely a bad earth.

Really easy to sort out though.
