Avensis 2.0 Diesel Oil Maintenance Required

My engine management system has just given me the message "Oil maintenance required" I checked the oil but it didnt seem to be too low but Ive topped it up anyway but the warning message stays on. Ive stopped driving it just in case the oil pump has gone so I dont damage the engine.

Could it be anything else or has anybody else had this problem. I had an oil change and filter about 10 weeks ago.

where did you get the oil change done? If it was a Main dealer take it back to them and get them to reset the service light

I think Ive sorted it. It was just the reminder light, Im assuming it comes on after a certain period of time or mileage, so I just reset it myself. I think when I got the oil change done (national tyres, didnt screw down oil filler cap properly, oil all over the engine) they didnt reset it.

Im hoping this is the case anyway. I was driving a ford focus last year when the oil light came on intermittently. The oil was full so I kept driving it, turns out the oil pump was faulty ended up toasting the engine.
