Hi,

I have a Toyota Auris 1.4 D4D (2008) and last week, when driving at 50 km/h, the motor rotation decreased suddenly and the car didn't respond to the accelerator. I stopped the engine and then I start it on again and everything appeared fine. After drive 50m the same problem again. I took the car to a toyota dealer and they told me the car had humidity inside the ECU and they cleaned it. This week the same problem accured!!

(perhaps coincidence but the firs time it occured was after a very small hole in the role, I do this track every day)

Anyone can help me?

Best regards,

My wife's Yaris - 2006 1.4 D4D has a similar problem with the engine warning light. Occasionally it will come on although the car doesn't go into limp mode like yours. To clear it (I know it sounds daft) but these are the things we do.

1 - fill up the washer bottle

2 - take the fuel cap off and replace it

3 - reset the warning light

To do #3 on the Yaris:-

Set the odometer to trip A

Turn off the ignition and then turn it on while still holding the trip button down

Wait until the reboot sequence has finished (a series of dashes then a flashing 00000 and then the trip mileage reappears)

I do know it sounds daft but it actually works 50% of the time just topping up the washer bottle

It seems to happen more when I'm driving and I tend to be a bit more brisk in cornering and stopping. I'm thinking that it might be an overly sensitive sensor somewhere that triggers it but I'm just summising
