Lacking Power

Hi there,

Having a problem with my 2002 hilux. Usually changing up from 1st to 2nd gear i experience a lack of power. This is usually rectified by depressing clutch and giving engine a few extra revs. This clears the problem. Recently though this does,nt work and i just have to drive through the problem. So far power has always returned. Does anyone know what the problem could be.

Usually the problem appears going from 2nd into 3rd, had got a lot worse last few days, no reving at all. Found a plug into air flow meter with broken wire, repaired that which has made a improvement. But still the original problem exists, i,m wondering now could air flow meter be knackered?
