Ive been give a set of rev 3 springs (lower than rev 1 springs)

and i plan to to fit them tommorrow if it stays dry.

What, if any problems am i likely to have whilst fitting them?

Ive done this loads of times, but am i going to be met with loads

of rusty nuts and bolts or will it be easy peasy?

Alrite matey, I havnt actually done it myself, but I had to remove the two black under bumper(rear) trims from my rearbumper a few wks back, and the 4 nuts/bolts holding each of them on all bldy snapped, didn't even get 1 turn on them!! And my mates Honda Civic got lowered cpl of years back too, and one of the bolts holding one of his arms I think was really rusted to death, so had to get that ground off. I have inserts on my car front and rear, and hopefully, I'll have the new susp. fitted next Tuesday, if my bump stops/ shock top boots get here with the new anit-roll bar bushes(all polyurethane ones). I'm hoping the shock insert caps will be ok. fingers crossed.

I fitted my springs today with no major problems however,

i did snap one of the rear anti-roll bar nuts! (it was rotten, didnt even loosen).

At first there was no real difference hight wise, but the steering felt much more responsive.

As the day went on they started to settle and the car slowly got lower.

Before i fitted them i could get my full fist in between the tyre and arch front

and rear, now the gap has dropped to just over two fingers!

What a difference, the car is still as comfortable as ever but now it feels

more sure footed and looks a million times better.

And thats just a set of standard rev 3 springs!

I'll take a picture tommorrow.

Nice one :). I'm planning on fitting some lowered springs next year when I replace the shocks. I have to agree with you, there is a lot of space between body and tyres, even on the turbo model, and it sometimes looks a little silly. I think a little lowering will really improve the car's look. Looking forward to some piccies :).

The main thing is that it can be rectified, and isn't too costly.

Well what a day ive had, My front anti-roll bar mounting point completley

broke away from the body on the n/s so ive spent the whole day welding a

new section of metal to the floor (well my mate did!)

I cant belive the difference its made to the steering, i thought it was good

yesterday when i fitted the springs but its even better now.

Its been cracked for a while but didnt look too serious... i guess it was

Anyway its fixed now and ready for a run to crail tommorrow for the max power

thing, I'll take some piccy's then.
