I've got one (tuning box) on my 2005 D4D, it makes a huge difference with both driveability and fuel consumption.

Can't remember the make though (my bad), but defo worth it.

If you ask nicely, i'll lift the bonnet and see what make it is :)

OK thanks for the reply,would be good if you tell me the make ,?and do get better economy from the engine ,i take it its a 2.0 ltr..?does it make the car more responsive in particular pulling away from a standing start cus mine seems to have a bit of a lull/flat spot before it responds to the throttle..also do you know if the engines are are to be remapped professionally ..cheers.

Sorry are "able" to be remapped.

No one to date has managed to crack the Denso ECU so you have to use a piggy-back box to re-map the engine. Most of the "Low" price boxes just fool the ECU into thinking that the engine is cold and pumps more fuel into the engine which (In time) will cause the motor to fail... Boxes like the ones that Kingo sells on here and the TUNIT boxes don't do that!...

The Tunit box I have cost new £485!... But look on eBay and pick them up from anywhere from £30-£150

TDI Tuning also sell tuning boxes for approx £280 & do much the same job as the other 2 suggested.

Had a look, mine is a Synergy box. Yes it does get rid of that awful flat spot that causes you to almost stall

sometimes, and it definitely saves fuel if you drive properly. I would estimate BHP is up about 20 percent,

much better acceleration from low revs.
