Touch & Go Queries

Recently bought a used 12 plated TR diesel estate (facelift). Couple of questions on the touch & go that may be easier to find the answer here.

  1. I use the car for my job so need the traffic announcements on however I can't seem to switch back to the radio mid broadcast if it's irrelevant or a repeat. On other cars I've driven it's just a case of hitting the TP button & the audio system goes back to the set station / input until the next broadcast however with the Avensis the only way I can find is to switch the audio system off then back on again, is there another way?
  2. The display contrast and brightness are easily adjusted however when the headlights are on the the display dims, not a problem at night but in daylight this is too dim to see the display clearly, is there a way to adjust the night time setting?
  3. Similar issue on the instruments, the adjuster goes from bright to a mid level in one step then can be dimmed from a mid point, is this a fault or by design?

Other than that it's returning 53 - 54 to the gallon on average or 5 to 6 more than the 1.6 TDCi focus it replaced in similar driving conditions although there's a fair bit more cabin noise at lower speeds.

Cheers for any help.

Dave

You can adjust the settings so that the 'day' screen doesn't change to night mode when the headlights are on. Press 'Setup' button, then select 'Display'. Under 'Display Settings' select 'Day mode' and there you have it!

Whilst on the topic, I've been trying unsuccessfully to register my Touch & Go on the website for a week now. There seems to be something wrong with the site as it doesn't recognise my UK postcode. I've tried using different browsers but without success. Anyone having similar issues?

Thanks, sorted the illumination. Anyone know if the step change in the cluster illumination is by intent or malfunction?
