Driver Door

The one thing that annoys my on my new MR2 ... even more then the "meep meep" road runner horn.. is that the drivers door "sags".

When its open I can lift it up and down and it had a lot of play in it, its not where the hinges bolt to the door either..

it looks fine when its shut.. justa couple of mm out (it fould the sill when you slam it tho) and as a result I get a bit of wond noise along the top of the window, even more towards the back...

Is this a common problem????

Any ideas on how to fis it if it is???

Cheers folks

I think it is quite a common problem, on both my 2's the driver doors have sagged. This is mainly due to general wear and tear, since both cars are 10 or more years old.

I also get wind noise along the top of the doors ( no leaks tho ). But this could prob be rectified by adjusting my eccentric rod guides.

Cheers guys.... -has anyone had the problem fixed? I'm guessing a new pin would do it?

Not yet, but it is on my list of things to do when the !Removed! weather clears up.

A Celica I had years ago had a slightly mis-aligned door, the top of the window wouldn't go flush as it'd get caught by the rubber at the top (the door was too high) - got this fixed by a Toyota dealer, but that was under warranty.
