Squeal From The Brakes ?

Im getting a squeal from the brakes on my 2006 T180..

Not when braking its coming when driving off brakes.. Now I realise some cars have a metal strip which gives a very similar noise to indicate the pads are worn out but the front discs and pads were done in Feb this year and the rear pads last year.. All on visual inspection looks fine..

This noise comes and goes.. AND its driving me bonkers !!

Cheers.

It could be the friction material you fitted but "off brake" noise is not uncommon. If you take the pads out and give them a daub of coppaslip on the backplates will stop it for a while. You definitely put all the shims back with the replacement pads?

Don I put the brakes together just as they came apart.. The previous set of discs and pads had been done by a large Toyota Dealer so I assume it was done correctly..

The friction material was genuine Toyota both front and rear. Only the front discs were replaced by me and the rear discs were done as I said above at the Dealers but quite some time ago..

Thanks ..

Don't assume anything Charlie - someone in a large Toyota Dealership managed to put the offside front pads on mine in upside down.................

Yes I agree David.. I will have to find the time to take the wheels off and do a thorough check..
