Audio Display Question

I have a 2007 T-Spirit 1.4 Diesel with the Type 2 AM/FM radio/CD player with MP3/WMA capability.

When playing a MP3 CD the central display window gives you the option to see music tags such as Artist, Track, Album, etc.

It all works perfectly except for one thing - the display only shows so much of the text. For instance, when the 'track' option is selected for Amy Winehouse's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" it appears as "Will You S" - missing out the "till Love Me Tomorrow" bit.

The display text being much too large to accommodate anything larger than 10 characters.

Is there any way to change the text size so that all the characters can be seen?

Thanks

Ken

I've edited the title of your topic so it doesn't look like you're asking about a VAG product.

Pretty sure there is no leeway to change the display.

As FB says, probably can't change the size, but some devices can be set to scroll, either once on selection or continuously. Case of RTFM I'm afraid.

Thanks for your replies.

It seems strange that the mighty Toyota corporation should fit audio systems that are not fully tested. It seemed obvious to me, on first use, that the display characters were too large. It wouldn't be so bad but the display shows everything in upper case, whether originally written in lower or upper.

BTW, I've read the manual and there seems to be no way to modify the display characters or scroll.

Thanks for your consideration

Ken

Well I guess it's a compromise between being able to see the text at a glance vs having to squint at tiny letters and risk crashing the car

I'm surprised there isn't a scroller option tho', the 107 I drove recently did that, although it was still chopping off the names of longer songs! There was enough for me to know what the song was tho' so wasn't a real problem.

  • 1 month later...

I have purchased a Yaris with the Touch and Go System. I find that there are no song titles or artwork when playing music from my mobile phone.

The Artwork I can live without but song titles are required, does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have downloaded items as MP3s, is there anything I should be doing.

Many thanks for taking the time to read my query.

Are you connecting via bluetooth? May be something to do with what version of AVRCP (Audio/Visual Remote Control Profile) your phone has. Version 1.0 is the minimum requirement, but version 1.4 is the recommended version.
