Rav4 T180 Rear Bumper

Hi All the mrs had someone reverse into the back end yesterday creased the back bumper bit of an argument as who's to blame anyone know a price on a new back bumper for a T180 dont think it can be repaired not sure if to claim or not cheers

I would be inclined to check about repair possibility first. You may be surprised what can be repaired at a fairly cheap cost.

Don't call the insurance company "just to see" unless you intend to DEFINATELY make a claim as they will log that query as a incident regardless of whether you make one in the end or not, and that could impact your next premium!

I agree with what Hoovie said. My wife reversed her Rav into a statue on our drive and creased the quarter near the LHS fog, garage wanted £100 to repair, but the fog was cracked as well and that was another £100. So I opted to go down the scrappy route and found one for £180 intact with both fogs as well. I couldnt be doing with the hassle of leaving the car in a bodyshop for a week and I would have imagined the repair would have looked newer compared to the rest of the bumper- swapped it out myself.

Speak to jolly-friar who recently converted their back door to one with a spare wheel and as such may have the old bumper 'going spare'.. could be wrong

Had a price off toyota for bumper 199 plus vat and 120 to paint so just over a 100 quid more than my excess so not bad
