You are unfortunately driving the model which is infamous for Dual Mas Flywheel (DMF) failures, Jeff. Any other noises arisen.....rattles or jingling when operating....? Hopefully all you are needing is a clutch, but imho, I would put in a single mass flywheel at same time if mileage is high....?

Hi Jeff,

Check clutch pedal adjustment first... Then look at possible wear/slop on the Dual Mass Flywheel. Yes, good idea to replace it with an SMF (from Borg & Beck, Blueprint...) for your age of vehicle - also saves considerable cost.

See numerous other recent posts here about SMF conversion.

Thank you both.ive had a quote for the repair using a dual mass fly wheel .the garage advised against the conversion as apparently you do get alittle bit more vibration.

I have noticed no extra rattles or noises but the fluid in the reservoir is dropping slightly.could i have a dodgy clutch slave cylinder???.
