Squib Size?

Hi,

Hoping someone out there can help solve a problem we're having replacing a squib in a 2005 Avensis.

The car has failed the MOT as the squib is not working. Garage got in touch with Toyota parts and ordered a new one. When it came it doesn't fit! Toyota insist that they have only ever produced 1 squib.

The diameter of the hole in the current (broken) squib for the steering column is 21mm. The replacement part sent out by Toyota has a diameter of only 18mm!!! Anyone have any experience of this or able to offer any advice?

MOT expires on Monday so running out of time to get it sorted and have no idea whatsoever about what to do.

Many thanks

Either the dealer is supplying the wrong part, the part is incorrect in the packaging or maybe part of the old squib is still on the shaft ? PM your chassis number and I can check the part number for you,
