Does anybody have this service on their vehicle?

I was given this by previous owner and when I have phoned up, they have advised me previous owner needs to complete form and there is a £50 fee for transferring ownership.

Is it worth having this service?

My car is making a noise. I think it maybe something to do with brake pads (although I know absolutely zero about cars, lol).

I was hoping to use the warranty service to get it checked.

Also, is it worth letting Toyota know I am the owner of vehicle?

Warranty Direct and other third party warranty providers have had mixed reports on other forums (eg Honest John, Car4Play, etc). I think before paying the transfer fee, you need to look at the balance remaining of the WD warranty, and decide whether or not it is worthwhile transferring.

If the problem you have is to do with the brake pads, these almost certainly will be viewed as consumables and will not be covered under the warranty (but check your policy).

If you decide not to transfer the WD warranty, but still wanted something in its place, you could look at the Toyota Extended Warranty - think your car should still be in scope - http://www.toyota.co.uk/cgi-bin/toyota/bv/generic_editorial.jsp?navRoot=toyota_1024_root&fullwidth=true&noLeftMenu=true&forceText=%3cnone%3e&edname=Owners-Warranty-Extended&id=Owners-Warranty-Extended&zone=Zone+Ownership&sr=Mall

It's got cover till End of September. I believe brake pads are covered under this policy according to manual.

Really your decision as to which way you go - £50 for about 2.5 months cover.

I really would doubt worn pads being covered. Third party warranty companies list loads of parts covered, but when you really need it, you will find they are covered, if they suddenly and without warning suffered a catastrophic failure. Not something that would generally apply to pads
