Just Got A Celica Gen 7

Hi All,

I recently got a 2006 Celica and I'm well pleased with it.

However, I have noticed an annoying engine noise which changes tone with the speed of the engine. It sounds like a electric lawn strimmer (spinning but not cutting grass) and a bit like a low volume chainsaw!!! Due to road noise it isn't really an issue at speed, but at low speed it just doesn't sound right.

To be honest it sounds like a timing belt that has been put on too tight, a sound which I have heard before.

Are Haynes manuals not available?

Any help appreciated.

Phil.
