You can turn the light stalk on the steering column 3 clicks. First seems to do nothing though. Whats it meant for?

if you turn the lights on fully, then switch back to position 1 - they will stay up. Useful for changing the bulbs etc.

erm,... nope.. that should be for all models mate...

was on my Celica as well... turn them on fully.. then go 2 clicks down..

the 1st click with turn the main lights off..

the 2nd with switch the sidelights off

the 3rd switch retracts the pop ups...

if the lights dont stay up with 1 click left.. then you have a problem...

now I am lost  if you turn the h/lights on #3 then go back to side lights #2 the h/lights go down right away.

The circuit could have been rewired, since in practice i find it annoying that I have to turn the lights right off to flick back to sidelights and allow the pop-ups to go down.

Sounds like it has had that wire trick so that the lights come back down when the side lights are on. IMOC has a 'how too' on this. Something to do with cutting a wire and putting a switch on it in the fuse box.
