Hiya,

On saturday when I was putting some new brake discs on the car, I managed to get a metal splinter in my thumb. anyhow after a 'few' drinks on saturday night I decided to try and get it out...but ended up shoving it right in :crybaby: .now it hurts like donald duck(!), and looks right red and angry

Hows best to get splinters out of thumbs??? is it really best to dig it out with a needle??

With splinters of the metal variety, I would let it migrate back to the surface or put a plaster on it with some antiseptic cream and wait for it to surface again. Then I would squeeze it out - puss and all :D

Or just leave it till your thumb drops off :P

Get some tweezers and get it out before you get a nasty infection!

Then get some TCP and a plaster on it to stop any dirt getting into the wound.

Nurse Angels orders! :D
