Splinters

Hiya,

On saturday when I was putting some new brake discs on the car, I managed to get a metal splinter in my thumb. anyhow after a 'few' drinks on saturday night I decided to try and get it out...but ended up shoving it right in .now it hurts like donald duck(!), and looks right red and angry

Hows best to get splinters out of thumbs??? is it really best to dig it out with a needle??

i've always dug em out w. a needle. can be anoying but eventully itl get there.

mind u i can't recall having metal splinters, but i've had glass and managed to get them out with the ol' needle.

get out a very strong magnet :)

With splinters of the metal variety, I would let it migrate back to the surface or put a plaster on it with some antiseptic cream and wait for it to surface again. Then I would squeeze it out - puss and all :D

Or just leave it till your thumb drops off :P

yer get a pin out and have good old dig about you'll either get it out or bleed to death

Get some tweezers and get it out before you get a nasty infection!

Then get some TCP and a plaster on it to stop any dirt getting into the wound.

I once had a splinter in the palm of my hand for months. I finally went to the docs and he got it out... not good !
