TOC Track Thrash?

This subject was brought up a lot at the TOC mini-meet, so we'll put it to the vote again...

Would you participate in a no-pressure TOC trackday? If so, where? Airfields are the 'safest' option 'cos there's no barriers... but a spin at 120mph can still be pretty bad. Especially if she rolls in a Group B-stylee

A track is slower, but the stopping distances are shorter, if you catch my drift.

The biggest question I get asked is INSURANCE... well the vast majority of you will be uninsured on track ( I know I am), so you've gotta have a bit of self-confidence. A one-day policy against write-off will normally cost about £100 - twice as much as your track hire I expect.

But unless you really are a bad driver, or you deliberately 'play' with other trackdayers, you should be fine...

So, with a target budget of £50 a head for a full day's crack... who's in?

I'd say this sounds like a scared man to me :D :P

An MR2 in stock is more set up for fast road/track use than most other road going cars. If it were for competition use, then yeah, maybe some chassis tweeking would be needed B)

You don't know what you would be missing out on mate :P

When is this likely to happen? I need to trash a set of tyres so new ones can be fitted and an airfield is the perfect place :P
