Cheap Corolla Modding Parts!

B) It's much cheaper to import the induction kits from the us than buy one in UK. And the ones you get in UK look crap anyway! I've got an induction kit with a polished aluminium pipe from the US for about $60, thats roughly 36 quid. There are loads of them on eBay. Check out the links.

Here is the one I've bought

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33659

The only thing is that you will need to do is drill a hole for the engine breather pipe in the aluminium pipe. It sounds really loud when you put your foot down!

There are loads of corolla modding parts on http://www.ebay.com

just type in something like corolla 93 - 97 in the search box and you'll get about 10 different pages of parts.

I've also bought some 15" wolfrace alloys and lowered the car. It now sits 50mm closer to the ground! The springs were 35mm Gmax and the lower profile tyres(195/45/15) provided 15mm extra, as they are 15mm smaller in radium than original ones.

I will upload some pictures soon.

Future plans:

Sebring exhaust system (with middle silencer replaced by Sebring straight pipe), Aluminium spoiler ,

Postert front splitter,

M3 side skirts,

clear side indicators.

Death to speed cameras!

For the springs etc, 93 -97 model cars look the same for american and UK, where as 98+ corollas look totally different to the UK ones, so I doubt springs would suit the UK corollas, where as the induction kit is a great find

Only thing is, how did u fit the vacuum pipe, after u drilled the hole?

I'm confused... they say they fit all 93-97 Corolla's then theres a couple that are specifically for a 1.8L which is what I've got

Don't worry if it says the filter is for a 1.8L only - this is the one i bought and had no problems fitting it, although my car is a 1.3 (4efe) As for drilling the hole inside the aluminium pipe, this should only be done on the pipes that only have one hole for the temperature sensor.

You will need something like a rubber grommet, so that it will sit nice and tight in the drilled hole. Then in order to connect the rubber breather pipe to the aluminium pipe, you can use the L shaped metal pipe which connects the breather pipe to the original intake manifold - push it in the drilled hole and make sure it is a tight fit!

Hmm, sounds kool. Any suggestions for the best one for my car (1.8 GXi) or is it just go for the prettiest

Do we have to pay tax on it when it arrives in the UK or anything?

Hey guys,

If you also look, you'll find headers and sometimes catback exhausts. I actually knew about the 93-97 corolla search thing on eBay. I didn't even think to post about it. Sorry guys. I hope you find as many cool things for you rolla as I have.

Yeah I've done the same recently and purchased lots from the states in eBay motors, also you can pick up quite a bit from european sellers such as Germany etc.

So far I've bought

1. clear bumper lights (didn't fit as there for the AE100!)

2. Black Diamond headlights (awaiting delivery)

3. Brembo front discs (awaiting delivery)

4. DTM mirrors

5. TRD Badge

6. TRD oil cap

Might try and pick up a few more bits soon, if you see any rear lexus style lights for the corolla 93-97 then they won't fit the UK / European model. For Corolla's in the 93-97 bracket the ones we need are listed as 96-97 (rarely listed) that I have been informed by a seller fit the 93-97 corolla's in the UK.

How about

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=38634

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=38634

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...8&category=6763

Then theres one like this which doesn't specifically say 1.8L

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33659

Would a 1.8L version give better performance or something? I can't see the difference myself

I think the induction kits for 1.8 have a slightly thicker pipe, so you'll get more air in, but they all look the same, unless you measeure the diameter of the pipe. As for paying tax - the answer is no. You only pay the item price and the shipping cost - nothing else. Before paying for your items, make sure you find out the shipping costs from the buyer, otherwise your item delivery will be delayed for a few more days.

They all look quite similar, i'm sure they would fit no bother, performance terms i'd say negligible.

Where can I get a rubber grommet from? and what did you use?

How did you pay? Most only accept certain methods for international buyers (which limits me because I'm 17 :crybaby: )

you are the weakest link goodbye..... ;)

Tax on car parts from the US is worked out at 10% of the combined shipping and insurance cost.

You may get one or even two packages through every now and then without TAX depending on the shipping method but normally you WILL be charged tax & VAT.

I know, i work at customs and own an American car.. LOL :P

If you are looking for rubber grommets, here is the link :

http://www.autosparks.co.uk/acatalog/AUTOS...rommets_20.html

U will need to get something like C521 or C522, that depends on the bore of the original L shaped metal pipe (as I have lost mine!), but not to worry, homebase or B&Q should sell some small plastic connector pipes - look in the plumbing department. Just make sure that the diameter of the pipe that you are going to fit will

1) fit in the rubber grommet really tight

2) will fit the original rubber breather hose from the engine.

Sorry Unity - John, I said that no tax will need to be paid, because it is already included in the price!

As for payment, I used paypal - some of the people let you use international paypal :D some dont! :ffs:

Or get somebody with a credit card to pay for your item via sites like bidpay.com(if it is specified in accepted payments) and then just give them the money! Hope that helps.
