More Noise In The Cabin Than Usual

Recently my Toyota Auris 1.6 Petrol Manual creates more engine noise than usual. I checked the oil, doesn't seem to be low.

Any ideas ?

I don't want to take it to a Toyota dealer because it is very relative and difficult to explain.

Is your weather hot and dry? I have noticed that when it is damp or raining the engine is much smoother and quieter and almost silent.

yes, that might be the case, because it has reduced a little bit when I went out for a drive today !!
